Super Gifts for Super Girls

Everybody knows somebody for whom it’s impossible to get the right gift and, with the festive season nearly upon us, the pressure is on to find that perfect present.

I’ve picked out four well-known superheroines to provide inspiration because, after all, who is harder to buy for than a woman who kicks ass?

So whether your recipient is a comic fan or a fashionista, follow my gift-buying guide, below, to pick out a present fit for a (warrior) princess. Simply answer the questions and then head to the suggested superheroine’s profile to reveal the perfect gift!

Selina Kyle knows her jewellery: when she’s not being Catwoman she moonlights as a cat burglar. However, if you can’t afford real diamonds this Lulu Guinness cat bracelet (bottom right) is a steal. Alternatively, Catwoman Converse Chucks (below right) offer a good grip and a quick getaway, although they don’t exactly go with PVC catsuits. And if you want to bring out Selina’s softer side, check out this adorable Little Mates Catwoman tee. Purrfect!

Superfan: Converse Catwoman Chucks $59.99 – Converse

Sidekick: DC Little Mates Catwoman Tee £14.99 – Forbidden Planet

It Girl: Lulu Guinness Cat Bracelet £85 – Lulu Guinness

Wonder Woman

If you could wrap the Lasso of Truth around Princess Diana of Themyscira – aka Wonder Woman – she would reveal her desires to be the same as those of any mortal woman: shoes, jewellery and make-up. In that order. With these Wonder Woman Mac eye brushes (below) Diana will never need her invisible jet again whilst the Andre suede boots (bottom right) provide the perfect accessory for kicking ass. For an off the cuff gift, you can never go wrong with a silver bracelet from BCBG Max Azria. Get two for a real Wonder Woman vibe.

Superfan: Andre Wonder Woman Boots €159.00 – Andre

Sidekick: Mac Wonder Woman Utility Belt Eye Brush Set £39.50 – Debenhams

It Girl: BCBG Max Azria Cuff c. $28 (on sale) – BCBG Max Azria

Batgirl may be a superhero but she’s still human and those lycra suits don’t leave much to the imagination. Make sure she’s not caught out by Mr Freeze by getting her a deliciously warm DKNY cape for the winter months. Nor are superhero outfits very forgiving, especially after Christmas excess, so a pair of Topshop Batgirl knickers will provide the perfect support. But if you want her to know how you really feel, this gorgeous bracelet from nOir will ensure you’re sending all the right (bat) signals.

Superfan: nOir Bat Girl Cuff Bracelet $215.00 – nOir

Sidekick: Topshop Batgirl Knickers £4.00 – Topshop

It Girl: DKNY Wool Cape c. £177.00 – Farfetch

Despite regularly risking her life to save the universe, Kara Zor-El (that’s Supergirl to you and me) lives up to both parts of her moniker: she’s super and she’s a sixteen year old girl. Indulge her teen side with this cute cami and shorts set, which is perfect for a slumber party. Or alternatively keep her sweet with a super kawai Super G fragrance from Gwen Stefani’s Harajuku Lovers line. Finally,  since the only thing more fatal to Kara than kryptonite is cryptic messages, buy her these nOir diamond Super Girl earrings to show her how much she means to you.

Superfan: Noir Super Girl Stud Earrings $70.00 – nOir

Sidekick: Supergirl Cami/Panty Set £29.99 – The Movie Shop

It Girl: Harajuku Lovers Super G Perfume £18.99 – Superdrug
