If you take a stroll down Madison Avenue in New York this winter, you might get the urge to Just Dance your way into Barney’s New York, where they have converted 5,000 sq feet of their men’s store into Gaga’s Workshop. Yup, Gaga as in Lady Gaga and Workshop as in full on, Christmas grotto.
Check out some great photos from inside Gaga’s Workshop on Ambassador of Fashion
Orchestrated by Haus of Gaga fashion director (and newly-crowned creative director of Thierry Mugler) Nicola Formichetti, the Workshop is part theme park and part LSD trip with Gaga inspired apparel, food and accessories scattered across the fifth floor amongst giant spiders and clawed hands. Even the holiday windows have been decorated in honour of our Lady this Christmas!
But if you can’t make it to New York, have no fear because Gaga’s virtual Workshop is available online here. And if the thought of having to trawl through pages of meat purses and heeless stilettos is making you feel more like gagging than Gaga, sit back and relax as we’ve picked the best (and most affordable) items below.
The Cookie Monster
Stuff your Poker Face with these fabulous chocolate casino chips or plant some Electric Kisses with these edible lipsticks. If you prefer more Lady-like pursuits, the face cookie and tin are reasonably priced and make a perfect accompaniment to afternoon tea.
Beautiful, Flirty, Rich
Clockwise from left: Stand Up Logo Mirror $25.00; Edge of Glory 3D Holographic Nail Lacquer $45.00; Nars Born This Way Lip Gloss $26.00; Beauty is Life Brush Logo Set $128.50 (comes with Powder, Blush Brush, Primer, Alliance Perfect Shine and Sorbet Perfect Shine).
Some girls are naturally gorgeous but for those not Born This Way, Gaga has sent help in the form of cosmetics (and a mirror if Vanity is your thing). Although pricey, the brush set is actually quite good value since it comes packed with make up in a neat little kit. Between the nail polish and the lipgloss the Paparazzi will be all over you in no time.
Gaga loves Fashion and now she’s bringing it to the masses although if you can’t afford the Leather Jackets for sale at $625.00 check out these graphic tees instead. The bag and the key toggle would also make cute souveneirs for Little Monsters without breaking the bank.
Ok, so these jewels may be fashioned out of acryclic rather than precious metals but at least they don’t cost a lot of Money Honey. The designs are cute and the colours are kitsch, and Lady Gaga is nothing if not kitsch. Wear them and you’ll be standing on the Edge of Glory.
Mama Monster is definitely in touch with her inner child and with these fab toys and games you can be too. The egg toy is a tongue-in-cheek nod to her arrival at this year’s Grammys and I love the magnets but if you’re a Big Girl Now you might prefer the Stiletto Stocking (which is genius). As for decorations, ditch the holly for a Harley with Gaga’s head on it and top off your tree with a Gaga’s Workshop shopping bag ornament.
Who needs Santa?
Gaga’s Workshop will be open until 2nd January 2012
