Bed and Breakfast at Tiffany’s: Valentine’s Day Ideas

If you’ve already read my previous post about the Tiffany’s pop-up shop at Somerset House and you’re hungry for more Tiffany & Co related events, look no further because 2012 is the year of the little blue box.

And with Valentine’s Day coming up (less than 1 month to go!) feel free to forward this on to your other half as a hint…

Eat at Tiffany’s

If you’ve ever visited New York, chances are you made like Audrey and rocked up on 5th Avenue with your croissant and cup of ‘cawfee’ for breakfast at Tiffany’s.

However, although Holly Golightly makes eating on the pavement look effortlessly chic, the reality is that you end up dropping crumbs everywhere, spilling your drink and getting shoulder barged by angry New Yorkers on their way to work. It would be so much better if you could actually have breakfast in Tiffany’s, right?

Well thanks to CharityBuzz‘s charity auction you can! Ok, it’ll set you back $5,000 (the estimated value of the lot) but, for that, you and four friends will get breakfast at Tiffany’s salon in their 5th Avenue store before taking a tour of the jewellery workshop and, for the winner of the auction, a diamond pendant to take away.

Bling it on!

Sleep at Tiffany’s

If you’re not a morning person, don’t fret. Forget breakfast at Tiffany’s and have breakfast in a Tiffany bed.

The St Regis in New York recently opened their Tiffany’s suite for the luxury-inclined. Decorated primarily in white with accents of the signature Tiffany blue, the 1,700 square feet suite features a living room, dining room and two bedrooms.

The chandelier above the dining room table is particularly impressive, sparkling overhead like a waterfall of diamonds. You may also need a waterfall of diamonds in order to afford a night at the suite, which costs $8,500. (For fans of Gossip Girl, this was where Blair was supposed to have her hen night.)

Suite dreams!

Watch (Breakfast) at Tiffany’s

If you won’t even be up in time for lunch (and you don’t happen to have $13,500 to hand) forget the razzle dazzle and keep it simple: you can’t get much more romantic than a Valentine’s Day viewing of Breakfast at Tiffany’s at The Prince Charles Cinema in London.

Tickets are £12.50 each and the comfy seats and funky bar at this independent picture house will more than make up for the fact that your other half didn’t get you a trip to New York, a diamond pendant and a night at the St Regis…maybe.
