Miss Missoni: Angela Missoni Speaks at the V&A

Two weeks ago I went to a talk by Angela Missoni at the Victoria and Albert Museum as part of the Peroni Collaborazioni series.

Missoni started off as a sportswear company run by Angela’s parents, Rosita and Ottavio (who, aptly enough, met at the London Olympics in 1948). These days Missoni is known for its bold prints but it remains a family-run company and retains both the positives and negatives that come along with that, as Angela explained.For the talk I wore my Missoni for Target dress (Angela discussed the collaboration in her talk also) and was lucky enough to meet Angela afterwards.

The V&A also displayed some pieces from the Missoni archives outside the theatre.

(By the way, at 37:22 where Angela mentions she saw a tweet where “somebody was expecting to see Margherita” … er, that was me!)
