Flashback: The Royal Wedding

This time last year the eyes of the world were focused on a little town called London and a little known couple called William and Kate.Pictures from the big day, clockwise from top: Regent Street covered in bunting, bride costumes in Hyde Park, Kate and Wills in Leicester Square having coffee, the crowds in Hyde Park, a routemaster, a shop window in Soho. Central image: My friend and I on our way to Hyde Park wearing tiaras and replica engagement rings!

After watching vows being exchanged on giant screens in Hyde Park, we headed down to Soho to party with the queen(s). There were some amazing window displays to celebrate the nuptials. This one, above, from Agent Provocateur was my favourite.

In Soho I boarded the route master to practice my Royal wave.

Everyone was dressed up and in a celebratory mood: it was like a giant street party. Even these nuns were getting into the spirit of things! Before heading back to Buckingham Palace the wedding party made a stop in Selfridges’ shop window, where the Queen made an appearance……as well as the bride and groom.

One year on, Happy Anniversary Wills and Kate!

PS Do you remember some of the other fairly notable weddings from last year…?
