Recently New Look, together with Fashion Champagne, set bloggers the challenge of picking 7 dresses from their collection and accessorising each one for a different day and occasion. Below I’ve picked seven outfits (one for each day of the week) and, for inspiration, I also picked out a song for each day of the week. So not only will you have a wardrobe full of choices but a soundtrack to go with it!
Saturday Night: Party!
Saturday night and I like the way you move
It’s party time and not one minute we can lose
Be my baby
Saturday Night – Whigfield
It’s impossible to go out dancing on a Saturday night and not revisit Whigfield’s 1994 smash hit, especially in this little contrast fuscia pink and lace bodycon number, which just screams party! Team with sleek peep toe heels and a statement ring to keep it modern, whilst giving a nod to the decade that spawned both Mr Motivator and Leo DiCaprio fever with the kitsch neon pink heart earrings. Finish off with the lace hard case clutch and you’re ready to hit the dancefloor!
Sunday Morning: Brunch
I know a girl from a lonely street
Cold as ice cream but still as sweet
Dry your eyes Sunday girl
Sunday Girl – Blondie
Sunday afternoons are made for lazing around and this ice cream sundae shirt dress is both cool and comfortable. Whether it’s a hangover-curing fry-up, brunch with the boyfriend or ice cream in the park, this outfit will take you from A to B without breaking a sweat. Accessorise with a cute bomber jacket and fun tights before throwing on some wedge heels for your feet and everything but the kitchen into the slouchy bag and you’re ready to go!
Monday Morning: Work
Every other day of the week is fine, yeah
But whenever Monday comes, but whenever Monday comes
You can find me cryin’ all of the time
Monday Monday – The Mamas and the Papas
1960s band The Mamas and the Papas weren’t actually writing about the back to work blues in their song Monday Monday, but the lyrics seem pretty fitting anyway! One way to get excited about going back to work is to pick out a super sleek outfit with which to take on the world. Think Jackie O meets Kate Middleton with a little black dress and jacket, pearls and a pair of Chanel-inspired ballet flats. To cheer yourself up – and everyone around you – throw in some flashes of pink. The Paul Frank satchel says business whilst the signature monkey says – is it Friday yet??
Black Peekaboo Ponte Bodycon Dress £27.99
Black Tailored Blazer £29.99

Tuesday: Festival Time
Goodbye, Ruby Tuesday
Who could hang a name on you?
When you change with every new day
Ruby Tuesday – The Rolling Stones
The Isle of White festival may have just been and gone but that doesn’t mean festival season is over! Take up flower power with this laid back attire, which is just perfect for popping backstage and pretending you’re with the band: throw the Rolling Stones vest over the maxi dress and tell everyone you’re here with Mick. If security kick you out console yourself over at the Silent Disco tent by throwing some moves like Jagger instead.
Rolling Stones Grey Acid Wash Vest £14.99
Black Open Cross Back Jersey Maxi £19.99
Teens Daisy Mix Garland £3.99
Tan Feather Woven Cuff Sandals £18.74
Fiorelli London Ibiza Colour Block Tassel Shoulder Bag £36.74

Wednesday: Camden Market
Waiting for Wednesday, I pray you’ll put me on the spot.
I do believe you, that you’ll love me that you’ll leave me
Waiting for Wednesday – Lisa Loeb
Still two whole days until the weekend so by now you might be feeling ready to throw off the peace symbols and throw on some heavy metal instead. Make like the goths and the punks and head to Camden Town to let off some steam. Jazz up this cute black skater dressed with a tartan bag, some studded shoes and raccoon eyeliner and your own mother may not recognise you. Mohawk optional.
Black Cross Back Skater Dress £22.99

Charcoal Studded Stretch Belt £7.99
Tartan Messenger Bag £19.99
Silver and Gold Cross Skull Drape Necklace £5.99

Seeing my past to let it go
Throw me tomorrow
Only for you I don’t regret
That I was Thursday’s child
Thursday’s Child – David Bowie
Who hasn’t watched Mad Men and wished they could borrow a few of those ultra-feminine dresses? Well lucky for us, Kelly Brook clearly took some inspiration from the 1950s with this gorgeous vintage-style dress from her collection for New Look, complete with a wide belt to really cinch in the waist. For a super retro look wear with a pair of cats eye sunglasses and leopard print platforms. The kooky magazine clutch and fishbone necklace provide the perfect twist. Perfect for browsing around Shoreditch market.
Kelly Brook Blue Belted Dress £34.99
Annabella Rose Animal Print Mary-Jane Platform Heels £34.99
Spitfire Tortoise Shell Cat Eye Sunglasses £16.49
Papa-Razzi Flaminia Clutch Bag £39.99
Silver Fishbone Necklace £3.99
Friday: Summer Event
Monday you can fall apart
Tuesday, Wednesday break my heart
Thursday doesn’t even start
It’s Friday I’m in love
Friday I’m in Love – The Cure
Woohoo! It’s the weekend and hopefully you have somewhere fancy to be, whether it’s Ascot, Henley Regatta or a summer wedding. Keep things fresh and flirty in this cute peplum-trimmed dress. The print is perfect for the warm weather whilst the orange colours – highlighted with some matching accessories – are bang on trend. The satin shoes dress the whole outfit up whilst the flowery headband is a great alternative to a hat or fascinator. Who’s ready to party!?
Which of these outfits would you rock?
