Bibbity Bobbity Shoe! Christian Louboutin for Disney

This October Cinderella will be the latest Disney film to emerge from the vaults (the House of Mouse is re-releleasing the classics, one by one) and in honour of the 1950 animation Christian Louboutin was asked to design a pair of glass slippers, which were unveiled this week.

The shoes are exquisite: I love the exaggerated shape and, of course, the butterflies give it a fairytale touch. Admittedly, it was slightly disappointing that they weren’t actually made of glass, which has been done before (by H&M’s next collaborator Maison Martin Margiela) but the abundance of crystals kinda make up for it.

As soon as I saw the shoes I knew there was only one dress to go with them that was worthy of Cendrillion herself: this couture Chanel creation from its Autumn Winter 2012/2013 collection. Granted it would probably be more fitting for a winter ball, but to be fair those pumpkin carriages don’t really provide much protection from the elements.

  7. Hmm it appears like your site ate my first comment (it was extremely long) so I
guess I’ll just sum it up what I wrote and say, I’m thoroughly
enjoying your blog. I too am an aspiring blog blogger but
I’m still new to everything. Do you have any suggestions for newbie blog writers? I’d
    genuinely appreciate it.

    • Hi there, firstly thanks so much for your comment (and sorry to hear the first one got eaten!)

My top tips would be make sure you blog about something you love, be patient and join twitter! Twitter is a great resource for getting your blog out there & connecting with like-minded people. Another great site is, which is aimed at independent fashion bloggers but has lots of great advice for all bloggers. And also check out Bloglovin, which is a great resource to read all your favourite blogs in one place.

Also, if you’re interested, I have started a new blog,, dedicated to Disney and fashion. I’m concentrating more on that now (remember what I said about make sure you blog about something you love? 🙂 ) – I would love to know what you think!

Best of luck with the blog – do let me have a link when you’re ready, would be great to take a look!
