Call All You Want But There’s No One Home and You’re Not Gonna Reach My Telephone

Check out these telephone boxes in Covent Garden. A pretty cool take on an antiquated concept, huh? The installations are part of telecomms giant BT’s ‘Artbox’ project, a collaboration with artists and designers to raise money for charity Childine. I love the Harvey Nichols design, above, which represents the essence of London (fashion, tube, Big Ben) and the ‘T is for Telephone’ design, below left, by artist David Mach. Ryan Callanan’s Diamond Jubilee inspired effort (below right) can be seen at St Pancras station and is alliteratively titled ‘Long Live Life Love’.The phone boxes will be up for auction later this summer, but there is a less expensive way to get your hands on one: simply download, print and decorate the image below! And if you send a photo of your efforts over to the nice people at BT, they may even display it on their site.
