Window Shopping: Dotty About Louis Vuitton x Yayoi Kusama

Louis Vuitton are currently hosting the most breathtaking windows at their New Bond Street flagship in support of their collaboration with Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama, whose likeness is also used in the displays. Marc Jacobs, Vuitton’s creative director, is a big fan of Japanese culture, and has previous collaborated with media artist Takashi Murakami. The latest collection includes bags, sunglasses, shoes and coats decorated with Kusama’s signature dots. The dots apparently reflect her desire to escape from the endlessness of psychological trauma, which just goes to show that beautiful art often emerges out of unspeakable tragedy.

  1. I’m not a fan of Louis Vuitton but these windows are amazing. Seeing them in person is fab.
